PLOT
1. Exposition
Black beauty narrates about his early life at the meadow.
· His first home was with Farmer Gray and he lived there with his mother, Duchess.
· His mother taught him to behave and be kind to his master so, his master would treat him nice.
2. Rising action
Black beauty begins his carefree days as a colt on English farm (Birtwick Park)
· He became good friend with Marrylegs and Ginger and be taken care by John (Squire Gordon’s coachman)
· James saved him during the flames at the stable.
· One night, John rode him to town to get the doctor. He saves the mistress life with his help. But his master move and he been sold to another farm.
3. Climax
Black beauty suffered a hard life at Earlshall Park
· He had to wear checkrein which is a very painful experienced.
· One strange day, Smith rode him to the town. On the way back, he stumbled and felt. Smith was dead and he had knee injuries. After the knee heals he was sold again.
4. Falling action
Black beauty still faces difficult life but he was well taken care of.
· He learned to pull cabs in London.
· He met with Ginger who was been mistreated.
5. Resolution
Black Beauty had happy retirement in the country.
