Moral Values


Black Beauty Graphic Novel:
Moral Values

1.   Be kind to the animal
·    We should be kind and
understanding towards the
animal feeling because they
could also suffer if we
 mistreated them.
·    Example:
-Horses are in pain and suffer
  through the mistreated of human
  being. Human cruelty would
   bring an end to the horses.

2.  Do not mistreated animals because
    it will give negative effect to the owner.
·       The owner of animals should know
      how to take care of their own animals.
·       Example:
-Merrylegs threw Mr. Blomefield’s
  children since they rode her like
   she was a steam engine.
-Ginger kick the man because
  couldn’t bear the checkrein.
      
3.  Be patient in any circumstances that
     you face in life
·       No matter how big and difficult is
    our life; we should always patient
     in order to overcome the problem.
·       Example:
-Although Black Beauty experiences
 several different types of jobs and
 mistreatment of his owner,
 he always patient in faces
  the circumstances.

Point of View.

This story is written from the first
person point of view.

-The pronoun "I" is used

-The story is narrated in the first person as
  an autobiographical journal told by
  a horse named Black Beauty.

-This journal begins with his carefree days
 as a pony on an English farm, to his
 difficult life, and lastly to his happy
 retirement in the country. Along the
 way,  he meets with many hardships
 of cruelty and kindness from human



Simile

The story has several similes e.g:

- as gentle as kitten

- thought horses is like steam engine

- rode me like I was a steam engine etc.

Themes

Black Beauty Graphic Novel: Themes


1.   Mistreatment of the animals, particularly horses.
·        Mr.Blomefield’s children rode
Merrylegs like she was a steam engine.
·        The lady at Earlshall Park wants
the horses to wear checkrein to keep
the horse’s head high which causes
pain to the horse.
·        Black Beauty needs to pull
heavy loads through bad winter.
·        Ginger was being sold many
times and need to bear with the
mistreated of each master until
he would rather dead than
alive to suffer the human
mistreatment.

2.  Kindness, sympathy, and an 
 understanding the treatment
 of horses
·       James, the stable boy saved the
            horses live during the fire.
·       Jerry, the cab driver kept
            Black Beauty clean and
            gave him plenty of food
            and fresh water.
·       John sympathy that the horses
            will suffer from the use of 
            checkrein.

3.  Loyalty
·        Although Black Beauty is tired, he
    raced back as fast as he could to the
    doctor in order to save his mistress
    life, Mrs Gordon.
·        Max and Black Beauty willing to
    bear the painful of wearing
    checkrein since they do not
    have a choice and need to follow
    the lady order.
