Beyond the Text 1: 
Time Machine 







Aims:
- Students are able to discuss in group
  to do a mind map about the use of
  horse in current life.

- Students are able to write a scene
  or short paraghraph about Black
  Beauty's life if he travels out
  into today life.

Time: 40 minutes

Materials: Marker pen, Manila Card

Steps:
1. Teacher devides students into a
   group of four.

2. Teacher asks students to search
   to the internet about the use of
   horse in today's life.

3. Students need to write about their
   finding as a mind map.

4. Based on the mind map,students need
   to write an autobiography scene or
   short paragraph about the Black
   Beauty's life if he travels out
   into today life.

Sample answer: Black Beauty’s in
                          today's life.


        My name is Black Beauty.
I am a horse. In the past, my friend
and I are used as transportation
to human. However, with the
technology today, they had
invented car to replace us. Now,
I am no longer work to carry
heavy load, but being used as
recreational activity for human. I am
working at Ferringhi Beach in Penang
Island. My duty is to ride one-two
passenger to go along the beach.
I am happy with my life today
because I give a lot of income to
my owner, Ahmad. Hence, he treats
me very well. I hope I could work
with Ahmad until the end of my life.
